It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, John Ferris of Quincy, Massachusetts, on January 28, 2025.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts and son of the late Andrew and Dorothy Ferris. John is survived by his sisters, Carol Gregory of Marshfield, Barbara Russell of Plymouth and Christine Noonan of Mansfield, and his brothers, Andrew Ferris of Plymouth and Brian Ferris of Cocoa Beach, Florida. John is also survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as many grand nieces and nephews.
John grew up in Marshfield, Massachusetts, and graduated from Marshfield High School. John was a four-year member of the High School Football team and a lifelong fan of the New England Patriots. John was a disabled US Navy Veteran and had served our Country for two tours including the Vietnam era. Despite the challenges of his disabilities, John lived his life with a gentle heart and a charitable spirit for those less fortunate. John was a proud Veteran with some amazing stories of his travels around the world. He loved the Ocean, walks on the beach and his usual, Fish and Chips! He loved history and old movies.
John's passing will be felt every day in the hearts of those whose lives he touched. We will think of him every time we go to the beach, watch a football game or make a charitable donation. We will feel his pride for Veterans forevermore.
John will be laid to rest in the Massachusetts National Veteran's Cemetery in Bourne on Friday, February 7, 2025.
