John G. "Jack" Foley of Marshfield, formerly of Jamaica Plain, died peacefully on June 4, 2022 at the age of 85.

Jack was born in the Jamaica Plain section of Boston to Mr. John and Florence (Dowd) Foley. After graduating from Boston Trade High School, Jack joined the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged after 4 years of service during the Korean War. He was a wonderful swimmer who tried out to be a Navy Seal in San Diego.

Jack played Park League Football for the Jamaica Plain team. He joined the Teamsters Local 25 where he excelled in his driving abilities and received numerous awards in driving competition.

After retiring he joined the Parker Professional Driving School in Raynham where he served as a Senior Instructor, teaching students how to drive the big rigs and the responsibility that comes with it.

Jack enjoyed all things nature but most of all he loved dogs and fishing. He owned a number of boats and enjoyed taking family and friends on tours, fishing in Gloucester, Boston Harbor and Brant Rock.

Jack was predeceased by his long-time loving companion, Ms. Sara Sullivan. He leaves a sister, Barbara Trufant and her husband Paul of Medway; brothers Edward Foley and his wife Mary of Dedham, Francis Foley and his wife Claire of Kingston, Kevin Foley and his wife Helen of Canton, and Joseph Foley and his partner Elana Anchodo of Arizona; and many nieces and nephews.

Jack will join Sara in eternal rest in the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Marshfield on Thursday, June 16 at 11:00 a.m.
