John H Francis Jr age 65 of Marshfield passed away on August 23, 2023. John was born 04/17/1958 in Cambridge and grew up in Dorchester. John is survived by his wife Susan (McNeill) Francis of Marshfield, his son Andrew Francis and his wife Jessica of Providence RI, his mother Concetta (DeAngelis) Francis of Somerville, his brother Joseph Francis and his wife Donna of Brockton, his sister Mary Francis of Dorchester and brother Kevin Francis of Concord NH., many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

John graduated from Dorchester High School and joined the Army National Guard of Massachusetts 1St Battalion 101St Infantry. He worked as a bartender for many years at the Peabody Tavern in Dorchester, Maintenance at Bay Path Rehabilitation in Duxbury, and recently Tri-M Maintenance of Weymouth. He was a man who could fix anything, and he was always willing to help anyone who needed it. As they say he was a good man.

John enjoyed history, fishing and driving his wife crazy. He mostly enjoyed spending time with family, especially his son, nieces, and nephews whom he adored. He was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be missed.

Services will be held on Sunday, September 17, 2023, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield. Interment in the Massachusetts National Cemetery will occur at a later date.
