John G. "Jack" Houlihan, of Marshfield, passed away on April 6, 2018 at the age of 75. Beloved husband of Maureen (Haviland) Houlihan; dear father of David Houlihan and his wife Carla of Colorado and the late John Houlihan; Jack leaves a daughter in-law, Kristin Houlihan of Braintree and grandchildren Casie, Ryan, and Patrick. Jack leaves siblings Mike Houlihan, Sister Jane Houlihan, Sister Dolly Riley, and Rita Hurley. He was predeceased by his sister, Pauline Jennings.
Jack was born and raised in Dorchester, MA attending St. Peters School and Parish. He graduated from Christopher Columbus High School, attended Northeastern University and had a successful career as an Engineer for Stone & Webster where he worked for 40+ years. He was dearly loved by his family and friends and enjoyed golfing, playing cards and spoiling his family. He was a self-taught handyman and willingly took on various projects to keep himself busy. Retiring in 2007, he spent the next 11 years enjoying life as a snowbird, wintering in Stuart, FL. He was loved by all he met and will be dearly missed.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street (Rte 139) in Marshfield. Funeral procession from the funeral home on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. for a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 40 Canal Street, Marshfield.
