It is with great sadness that John W. Harris, of Marshfield, passed away on February 9, at the age of 61.

John was the son of John and Beverly Harris of West Roxbury. He is also survived by his brothers Mark Harris of West Roxbury, and Bill and his wife Paula Harris of Plymouth. He was loved by his many cousins and his niece. John was the husband of Barbara Beaton of Marshfield. He also leaves behind three children, Sean Harris of Foxboro and Meaghan and Nicole Harris of Marshfield.

Often referred to as "Johnny" by his friends and family, he was born and raised in West Roxbury and was a graduate of Catholic Memorial High School. John attended Northeastern University and then went on to work in IT for Boston Public Schools for nearly 40 years. He enjoyed fishing with his brothers, as well as going to the beach any chance he could get. He also enjoyed spending time in Florida and taking care of his garden every summer. John had a personality and sense of humor that could light up a room. He will be dearly missed.

Friends and family are invited to attend services held at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield on Saturday, February 19, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life at the Marshfield Elks, where John enjoyed many good times as a member.
