John L. Ingham, Jr. passed away at home peacefully at the age of 97. John was husband of the late Elizabeth "Betty" Ingham. He is survived by his sister Mildred Mullen of Tampa, Florida. He was the dear father of the late Robert Ingham (wife Cindy), Richard Ingham (wife Brenda), Gary Ingham (Claire Smith), and grandfather of Elizabeth, Jeanette, Corinne, Kathryn, Christopher, John, and great-grandchildren Betty and Lennox.

John was born in Dorchester in 1925 to the late John L. and Mary Caroline (Forbes) Ingham. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy after graduating high school. John helped build one of the first VFW halls, in Marshfield. He was a member of the Boston Stock Exchange and worked for Blythe and Co., and Bank of Boston for over 50 years. John and his wife Betty loved to travel and play golf with their many friends.

Services will be held on a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, online at cancer.org
