John Kaczorowski, 84, passed away on April 12, 2022 of natural causes. He is predeceased by his wife, Patricia (Heindl) Kaczorowski (1991). He leaves a daughter, Karin Kaczorowski and her husband, John Carver, of Marshfield. He leaves a sister, Patricia (Kaczorowski) Baggarly and her husband, Bruce, of Mattapoisett, and their three children, David Baggarly of Southbridge (John's godson), Steven Baggarly of Norfolk, VA, and Kathy (Baggarly) Murillo of Ventura, CA; three cousins, Frances (Kaczorowski) Los of Acushnet, Carol (Gerry) Kraus of Fanwood, NJ, and Marilyn (Gerry) Murray of Hahira, GA.
John was born to John Kaczorowski and Gladys (Potyrala) Kaczorowski in New Bedford, MA in 1937. He attended New Bedford Vocational and Technical High School, where in 2004 he was invited back to give the graduation speech along with celebrations of the new school renovations. John attended Northeastern University in Boston, where he completed both his B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering. From 1969-1978, John was Senior Lecturer and Instructor of Electrical Engineering at Northeastern. He was a member of the Phi Gamma Pi fraternity. From 1978-1986 John dedicated himself to the Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, where he developed and implemented the successful concept of weekend college, an idea decidedly outside the box of its time.
John and Patricia, a nurse, married in 1961 and settled for a brief time in Boston until the birth of their daughter, Karin. They purchased a home in the suburbs and moved to Marshfield in 1967.
John has resided in his home ever since then, being proud of the new roots they were forming. During his free time John enjoyed working on projects around the house, tending to the family vegetable garden, and enjoying his time as an avid philatelist and numismatist. He was a Friend of the Ventress Library in Marshfield, a lifelong member of the Marshfield Rod and Gun Club, and a dedicated volunteer at the South Shore Natural Science Center in Norwell. John was also an active member of many professional groups such as IEEE and Electro and spent many years as a member of the Board of Directors of the local sectors. This allowed for the opportunity to travel with his wife and daughter around the United States and Europe.
John, along with his fix-it ways, witty conversation and stories, and the occasional Polish joke, will be missed by young and old alike. His beloved friend and companion, Cheddar, a smart orange tiger cat, is also mourning his master's passing.
