Obituary

John B. Nolasco of Marshfield passed away on May 19, 2021 at the age of 94. He leaves his children Katherine Bedford, Rose Anne Paton, and Calvin Nolasco and grandchildren Jason Penning, Justin Penning, Travis Penning, Tracey Paton Long, and Sarah Paton. Son of the late Miguel and Josepha (Hernandes) Nolasco, John is survived by siblings Della Perez and step-siblings Jenny Puebla and Connie Puebla; he is predeceased by siblings Michael Nolasco and Lupe Mendiola and step-siblings Tommy Puebla, Jose Puebla, and Nellie Puebla. John also leaves his dear companion, Mary Pierson of Marshfield.

John enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1944 and was a proud Veteran of both WWII and the Korean War. He studied Mechanical Engineering at U.C.L.A. and enjoyed a successful 40-year career in the plumbing trade and also a second career in the film industry, modeling and acting in small parts. John counted John Wayne among his many friends. He moved to Marshfield in 1997 and worked for 10 years at Lowe's in Pembroke, where he made many more friends.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Ann by the Sea Parish Church, 591 Ocean Street in Marshfield. Interment will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory can be made to St. Ann by the Sea Parish Church, by mail to 591 Ocean Street, Marshfield MA 02050 or online at https://stanns.net/
