John G. Ritucci, of Plymouth, Massachusetts, passed away on May 6, 2025, at the age of 82. Born in Brockton on June 28, 1942, John lived a life grounded in hard work, love of family, and a gift for making people laugh.
John built a long and successful career with Sears Automotive, where he started as a mechanic and retired as a Senior Executive. His leadership and commitment to work left a lasting impression on colleagues and helped shape the company's successful automotive service centers. Even years after retiring, John continued to speak proudly of his time with Sears, a testament to the lasting impact it had on him—and he had on it.
In retirement, John turned to the other great love of his life: tennis. As a coach at Curry College and as a professional at the Weymouth Club, he found immense joy in teaching, mentoring, and simply sharing the game with others. Whether running high-energy cardio tennis classes, Friday night Round Robins, or team practices, John brought a contagious enthusiasm and his signature humor that created lifelong friendships. Conversations with John had a way of coming full circle—always back to Sears, or tennis, or both.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Suzanne, of Plymouth; their daughter Michelle and her husband Matt, also of Plymouth; and his sons John and wife Lynne of Holliston, and Mark and wife Terrie of Middleboro. He was a grandfather to 8 grandchildren and a great-grandfather to 8 great-grandchildren.
He also leaves behind his sister Mary Skaparas of Brockton, nieces Kristen Monteiro and her husband Peter of Barnstable, and Julie Ann Police and her husband JP of Dennis.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Mario and Sue Ritucci, and his brothers, Richard and Donald Ritucci.
