John J. Spillane, 55, died February 12, 2011 from pancreatic cancer. Jackie was a long time resident of Marshfield Hills. He graduated from Boston College High School and received his Associate's degree from Cape Cod Community College. Jackie spent 30 years in the printing press business. He worked at South Shore Publishing Company in North Scituate and at Spencer Press in Maine. He was an accomplished pressman. Jackie severely injured his back which ended his career. Three major back surgeries later he was deemed physically disabled by the state of Massachusetts. Jackie was a member of the Boston Catholic Cemetery Association. He leaves his sister Mary Catherine and brother in law Tod Jeanmaire. Jackie's ashes will be interred at the Mount Benedict Cemetery in West Roxbury at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday March 15, 2011. Later, that same day, a memorial gathering will be at Rafferty's Pub, in Marshfield at 6:00 p.m. Contributions can be made to the Special Olympics in honor of Jackie's deceased daughter Colleen K. Spillane.
