John F. Spinney, Jr., of Marshfield, formerly of Rockland and Jamaica Plain, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on June 2, 2022. He was 76 years old. Beloved husband of Marie (Conlon) Spinney. Loving father of Christine Loftus and her partner Paula Sable and Michael Spinney and his wife June. Cherished grandfather of Rachael Spinney and Cameron Spinney. Dear son of the late John F. and Marion R. (Foley) Spinney. Caring brother of Marion Spinney, Joanne Hertello, Judith McGovern (James Mitchell), Joseph Spinney, James Spinney (Janice), Thomas Spinney (Sandra), Robert Spinney (Stephanie), and the late Nancy Spinney, Patricia Dame, and Karen Spinney. Brother in-law of James Conlon (Carol) and Jane Moon (Richard). Also survived by a loving uncle Hugh Foley and aunt Grace Cronin, as well as many dear nieces, nephews, and friends.

John was a proud graduate of Boston College. He was the former owner and operator of Spinney Insurance Agency, Inc. until his retirement in 2008. In his spare time John enjoyed playing golf and hosting barbeques for his family and friends, as well as the many trips he took with Marie to Las Vegas, Aruba, and Cancun. He was a faithful fan at his grandson Cameron's games, which brought him great joy.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Visiting Hours on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield and the Funeral Mass on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Christine Parish Church, 1295 Main Street (Rte. 3A) in Marshfield. Interment will be in the Couch Cemetery.
