John T. "Jack", "Jackie O", "Skippy" Stephenson, III passed away on June 2, 2025, in Hingham, Massachusetts, at the age of 79. Born on January 27, 1946, in Marshfield, Massachusetts, Jack lived a life marked by service, devotion to family, humor, shenanigans and quiet strength.
Jack proudly served his country as a S.A.C. aircraft mechanic in the United States Air Force. His time in the military reflected his dedication and skill, contributing to the safety and readiness of those who served alongside him. His commitment to service remained a defining aspect of his character throughout his life. He was deeply connected to his faith and found spiritual guidance at Saint Anne's during his time in Marshfield. This connection brought him comfort and community across different chapters of his life.
Jack is lovingly remembered by his wife Gretchen, his first wife Tina; his two children, John Thomas Stephenson, IV and Sabrina; his sister Denise and brother John; his two stepchildren, Cassandra and Richie; his 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, and many friends. Their lives were enriched by his presence, and they carry forward the legacy of love and resilience he instilled in them.
He was preceded in death by his mother Eleanor, his father John Thomas Stephenson, II, and his brother Ronnie.
May Jack's memory bring comfort to those who knew him and serve as a lasting reminder of a life well lived.
Jack will be laid to rest in the Massachusetts National Cemetery on Tuesday, June 17 at 11:15 a.m. After the funeral service we will be having a celebration of life at Fourth Cliff Recreation, 348 Central Avenue Humarock, MA 02047 at the pavilion, starting at 2pm.
