John (Jack) J. Ward, 77, passed away unexpectedly on December 2nd at his home in Marshfield. Jack was born June 30th, 1946, in Boston, MA, and is predeceased by his parents Richard N. Ward and Catherine G. (Boyle), his sister Janice (Glover) and brother David. Jack is also predeceased by his wife Kelly A. (Moran). Jack is survived by his brother Richard of Plymouth, sister Susan McAlinden of Pembroke and many nieces and nephews. He was also a devoted godfather to his nephew Christopher.
Raised in Plymouth and Pembroke, he was a 1964 graduate of Silver Lake High School. Jack was a gifted musician and played guitar in two bands, The Esquires, and Sound Investment, with bandmates Jim O'Fihelly, Ed Mathews, Glenn McElwain, and the late Shawn McGlone from 1962 through 1970.
Jack was self-employed as a carpenter specializing in kitchen cabinet installations. He worked primarily with his longtime friends Jim O'Fihelly and the late Bruce (Red) Southerton. He was also an avid outdoorsman who loved skiing and being on the water, especially aboard his boat Après Ski.
Jack's family would like all his friends to join them in celebrating his life at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield on Saturday, December 30th from 2:00 – 4:00 pm.
