Obituary

J ordan Phinney of Marshfield, MA passed away on May 21, 2020, at home surrounded by his family, at the age of 83. He was the son of the late Dexter and Winifred Phinney of Pocasset, MA. Jordan is survived by his wife Evelyn, his daughter Kari Leighton of Sandwich, MA, and his son Scott and wife Jennifer of Pembroke, MA. He leaves five grandchidren, Jordan, Kelsey, and Colby Leighton of Sandwich and Zachary and Joshua Phinney of Pembroke. He is survived by his sister Sara McCarthy and husband Charlie of Hobe Sound, FL and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Alynn Phinney and his brother, John,

Jordan graduated from Bourne High School and attended Long Beach City College. He joined the Navy in 1954 and spent time on three ships traveling to the Far East and the Arctic. He worked until his retirement for McDonald's Corp. as the Boston Regional Construction Manager. His greatest joys were time spent with family, sailing, traveling, and researching genealogy.

Jordan was a member of the Mayflower Society with three direct lines to the Mayflower.

Expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to the Mystic Seaport Museum, Greenmanville Avenue, Mystic, CT 06355-0990 or to the Norwell VNA and Hospice, 120 Longwater Drive, Norwell, MA 02061.

The family will have a private graveside service.
