Dr. Joseph A. Dobsovits, a longtime resident of Marshfield, passed away on May 30, 2020 at the age of 74. He leaves his two children, daughter Adrienne Hepler of New Canaan, CT and son Ryan Dobsovits of Marshfield, and two grandchildren, Ronan and Keegan Hepler.
Joe was born in Patterson, NJ to Joseph and Maryanne Dobsovits (Englebrekston). One of nine children, Joe grew up in Sea Cliff, New York. He graduated from Manhattan College and received a DDS from Tufts University. Joe was a dentist, working at a public health clinic in Roxbury, MA for many years before becoming disabled by a stroke in 1993. He loved sailing, snorkeling and wood working. After the stroke, Joe honed his love of wood working by carving and painting many prize winning wood sculptures. Joe exhibited his crafts annually at the Marshfield Fair. He sang in the choir at Saint Christine's until he moved to Cardigan Nursing Home in Scituate. Joe enjoyed many activities there, most recently painting red hearts for front line workers dealing with Covid-19. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 11th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Christine's Parish Church, 1295 Main Street in Marshfield. Relatives and close friends are invited to attend; face masks are required.
