Gill, Joseph Paul, of Marshfield, passed away on July 21, 2016 at the age of 70. Beloved husband of Deborah (Maloney) Gill and son of the late John and Catherine (Brennan) Gill, Joseph is the devoted father of Catherine Gill and Christopher Gill, both of Marshfield, dear brother of John Gill of Maryland and Robert Gill of Marshfield, and leaves many nieces and nephews.

Joe loved the outdoors and had a great appreciation for nature, traveling to many National Parks over the years. He was an avid sports fan and a caring coach for his children's various teams. Joe graduated from the College of Santa Fe New Mexico with a degree in History and proceeded with graduate work at UMass Amherst. He also dutifully served in the Vietnam War. Joe had an active interest in energy conservation which he utilized in his career as Facilities Manager. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2016 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street (Rte. 139) in Marshfield. Funeral procession from the funeral home Monday, July 25 at 10:00 a.m. for a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 40 Canal Street, Marshfield. Interment will be in Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
