Joseph E. Hendry, Jr., of Marshfield, passed away on October 1, 2020 at the age of 84. Beloved husband of Ann C. (Clifford) Hendry, he was the loving father of Joanne Hendry of Quincy, Theresa Kapple (husband Al) of Marshfield, Joseph E. Hendry, III (wife Bettina) of Luxembourg, and Linda Daichman (husband Sean) of Houston, TX, and the cherished grandfather of Augustus, Thomas, and Kendall Kapple and Alexander, Peter, and Michael Daichman. Son of the late Joseph E. Hendry, Sr., and Rose (Lombardi) Hendry, Joe was also predeceased by a sister, Mae Gorman.

Joe was, above all, a loving family man with a strong sense of justice. Generous and humble, he always put others before himself. A staple for many years at Green Harbor Golf Course, he was known for his sense of humor and wit.  Lowe's most loyal customer, Joe could often be seen there, sporting his Marine Corps hat and parking up front in the spaces reserved for veterans. He was a skilled mechanic, never intimidated by a new project. Ann was the love of his life and he enjoyed treating her like a princess. Joe unfailingly chose to do the right thing and his example lives on in his children and grandchildren.

Joe served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps and will be laid to rest with a private ceremony in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at 12:30 p.m. The service can be viewed here via a live stream - please check back the morning of the service for the live link.
