Starts at 11:00 am (Eastern time)
With deep love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Judith Ann Jordan Hall, a remarkable woman whose warmth, intellect, and grace touched all who knew her.
Judy had a lifelong passion for history, architecture and landscape design. She found beauty not only in historic places and grand landmarks, but in the intentional details that made her home welcoming, beautiful and alive. Her home reflected her spirit — elegant, inviting, and filled with love. Among its many treasures, nothing brought her greater joy than her beloved “perfect” tree.
She was an exceptional listener and gifted conversationalist whose intelligence, and lively spirit drew people naturally to her. She and her husband loved entertaining, hosting lively cocktail parties and gatherings filled with laughter, storytelling, and friendship.
At the center of her life was a love story for the ages with her devoted husband. Together they shared a partnership filled with affection, adventure, and joy. They traveled extensively, exploring historic places and embarking on unforgettable tours that reflected their shared love of learning and discovery. Wherever they went, it was clear they only had eyes for each other.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother who found immense joy in her children and grandchildren, especially the babies she adored so completely. Her happiest moments were often the simplest ones — holding a grandchild, sharing stories and gathering family together.
Judy also believed deeply in serving her community. Her volunteer work began at Oldport in Newport, Rhode Island, and continued throughout her life. She was actively involved with the Duxbury Rural and Historical Society, including leading the fundraising drive to acquire the Nathaniel Winsor Jr. House and serving as chair of the Decorators’ Showhouse. She also served on the Bumpus Gallery Board of Directors, Duxbury’s Nuclear Advisory Committee, and the various PTAs. Through her leadership and quiet generosity, she strengthened the community she loved.
Judy will be remembered for the beauty she created around her — in her home, her friendships, her community, and her family. Her life was one of elegance, curiosity, generosity, and love.
Judy is survived by her children Kristen Elizabeth Hall of South Burlington, Vermont, Jennifer Jordan Hall (Pat) of Louisville, Kentucky, Kathryn Morgan Hall of Portland, Maine, Shannon Richmond Moesaa (Henrik) of Duxbury, Massachusetts; her nine grandchildren Tyler, Brittany, Caleb, Danielle, Noah and Logan, and Isabella, RJ and Mathias; and many great-grandchildren. Judy was preceded in death by her beloved husband Howard R. Hall; her parents and two brothers James J. Jordan and Richard D. Jordan.
A celebration of Judy’s life will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Parish Church in Duxbury, Massachusetts. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Judy’s memory to the Duxbury Rural and Historical Society, P.O. Box 2865, Duxbury, MA 02331 or online at https://duxburyhistory.org/
