Judith A. Sherman

Judith "Jude" Ann (Kelley) Sherman, of Marshfield, MA, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2026, surrounded by loving family. She was born on September 30, 1945 in Boston, MA, daughter of James A. Kelley and Deolinda Medeiros Kelley. Judith and her family moved to Lexington, MA in 1953 where she attended the Adams School, Muzzey Junior High School and graduated from Lexington High School in 1963. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1967 and worked in publishing until she followed her creative love for history and "all things old", launching an Antiques business on the South Shore and Martha's Vineyard. Having an affinity for travel and adventure, Judith visited many places including Europe, Bali and Thailand and enjoyed reminiscing and sharing stories of her ventures. She loved the written word, a great book and a healthy debate; hosting memorable holiday gatherings and time spent with her family at many destination reunions.

Judith is survived by her husband, Phillip Sherman of Marshfield, her son Matthew Sherman and his wife Erika of Marshfield MA, her daughter Rebecca Sherman of Scarborough, Maine and grandchildren Jackson Sherman and Violet O'Donnell. As one of nine children, she is further survived brothers Douglas Kelley and his wife Lillian of Gloucester MA, Bruce Kelley and his wife Jean of Albuquerque, NM, Steven Kelly of Leominster MA , sisters Jean Kelley of Catskill NY, Patricia Kelley of New York City, Susan Kelley of Maine and Linda Kelley of Maine. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Michael Kelley. Judith was also a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews whom she adored and spoke of often.

She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, November 8, 2026 from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. and will conclude with a funeral service at 3:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield.
