Julia M. (Verrochi) Pacella, age 88, of Weymouth, formerly of Norwell and Dedham passed on Tuesday, January 3, 2023. Beloved wife of Anthony Pacella for 69 years. Devoted mother of Anthony (Ann McCormick) Pacella Jr of Plymouth, Eugene (wife Carol) Pacella of Norwell, and Karen (William Hayward) Mariano of Scituate. Daughter of the late Michael and Carmela (Mastrangelo) Verrochi. Dear sister of Michael (Marylou) Verrochi, the late Joseph (Emily) Verrochi and Carolyn (William) Sheick. Loving Grandmother to Marc Pacella, AJ Pacella, Craig (Hellen) Pacella, Cassandra Pacella, Kyle Pacella, Jonathan (Abigail) Mariano and Joshua Mariano. Cherished Great Grandmother of Madeline, Evelyn and Cody. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Julie was born in Boston, raised in Dorchester and Milton, graduated from Notre Dame Academy and earned a degree in interior design from Vesper George School of Art. She was a talented artist whose creativity was expressed through her many hobbies and interests, especially painting. Julie enjoyed cooking and could put together gourmet meals from a few simple ingredients. An active member in many organizations, she was especially proud of her time as president of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Inner Circle Club as this women's organization raised money for many charities.
Julie's warm and charismatic personality always made one feel special and welcome. She was a "people" person with a zest for life and a wonderful sense of humor. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, friendship and her unforgettable character. Julie was a truly special person and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Resurrection Parish, 1057 Main Street, Hingham on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow in the Washington Street Cemetery in Norwell. A reception to celebrate Julie's life will follow at the Scituate Country Club, 91 Driftway, Scituate.
