Karen Morel Quackenbush, of Marshfield, passed away at home on July 11, 2017 at the age of 72. Beloved mother of Stacey Webber and her husband Paul and Bill Quackenbush, all of Marshfield, and cherished grandmother of Brennan, Joe, Colby, Sami, Brady, and Garret; Karen leaves a sister, Barbara Sandmore of Connecticut, and several nieces and nephews.

Karen grew up in New Jersey, graduating from River Dell High School in Oradell. As a child she summered in Orleans on Cape Cod. She achieved her Associates Degree from Cazenovia College and later her Bachelors from Eastern Nazarene College. She moved to Marshfield in 1976. Karen loved the South Shore and the beaches. She became very active in the town, spending many years volunteering in the school system and being involved with the Boosters Club and athletic fields committee. She was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed playing softball, tennis and golf as well as coaching softball. She loved all of the Boston sports teams, both college and professional and more often than not would be watching a game. Karen loved her dogs who most recently were Cairn Terriers. However her greatest passion was being a Grammy. More than anything she loved her grandchildren. She was always taking them places, doing fun projects with them and going to their sports games no matter when or where they were. She is loved by many and will truly be missed.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home 1755 Ocean Street (Rte. 139), Marshfield, and will conclude with a Celebration of Life Service at 6:00 p.m.
