Katelyn E. Allen, 28, of Marshfield, lost her courageous battle with cancer on March 4, 2018, surrounded by her family, at the Pat Roche Hospice Home in Hingham.

Katelyn was the beloved granddaughter of John and the late Carol (Bennett) Allen; cherished sister of Heather Allen of Marshfield, Alicia Howland and her husband Matthew of Vermont, and Candace Allen of Quincy; aunt of Sky and Kendall Allen, Aiden and Giuliana Howland, Alexus McDermott, and Tyler and Lyla Santos. Katelyn also leaves many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

Katelyn graduated from Marshfield High School in 2007 and the University of Massachusetts Lowell in 2012 with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice. She was a standout athlete for both the Lady Rams and the River Hawks. Katelyn was full of life and love, and she loved to make people laugh. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with her friends, going to the beach, and being active outdoors.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street (Rte. 139) in Marshfield.  A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in the Winslow Cemetery.
