Kathleen A. "Kay" (Murphy) Flaherty of Marshfield, formerly of Brighton and Roslindale, passed away on December 25, 2018 at the age of 88. Kay was the beloved wife of the late Edward Flaherty, B.P.D.; dear mother of Brian Flaherty and his wife Yane of San Francisco and Maryanne Flaherty and Gene Rooney of Marshfield; grandmother of William Schulze, B.F.D. and his wife Shana of Marshfield; great-grandmother of Jameson and Tyler; daughter of the late Gordon and Margaret (McGrath) Murphy and sister of the late Paul Murphy.

Kay was a retired Secretary with the Boston Public Schools and served as a Eucharistic Minister with St. Ann's by the Sea Parish Church.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, December 28, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street (Rte. 139) in Marshfield. The funeral procession will depart the funeral home on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. for a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. in St. Ann's Church, 591 Ocean Street in Marshfield. Burial will be in Mt. Benedict Cemetery in West Roxbury.
