Obituary

Kathleen L. (Wyman) Blaisdell, 70, of Marshfield, passed away on December 8, 2016 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Kathy leaves her loving companion of 33 years, Philip W. Dunn, a brother, Frederick Wyman Jr., and his wife Haydee of Texas, a sister, Elaine Rogers and her husband Wayne of California, and a son, Linwood E."Woody" Blaisdell of Kingston. Predeceased by her sister JoAnne Coulstring, and her parents, Fred and Louise Paulding Wyman. She is the beloved grandmother of Tristan, Nicole, Rachael, Tyler, Patrick, Sydney, Linwood III, Maggie, and Harry and dear friend, Barbara Wynn, Dolores and Paul Dunn, Linda and Brian Dunn, and Julie (Blaisdell)DiGiacomo and many close friends.

Kathy was born in Weymouth and graduated from Hanover High School in 1964. In her early years, she loved horseback riding. Kathy resided along the South Shore, ultimately calling Marshfield her home. Many knew Kathy as their beloved bartender of four decades, who raised spirits while serving spirits.

When Kathy wasn't traveling, bartending, or sunning herself at the beach with family and friends, she was found playing with her grandchildren. Kathy was considered the "Cool Nana" and established her own "Nana's Daycare". She participated in countless games of Candyland, directed homemade plays, watched Teletubbies and Sesame Street, went bridge jumping, sledding, bowling, and visited Canobie Lake Park, Saquish, and of course the Marshfield Fair. Kathy was very creative in making customized birthday cakes for her grandchildren. She never missed the opportunity to dress up for Halloween and parade around with the grandkids. Her grandchildren's friends adored her and also called her "Nana Kathy". She attended every birthday party, school play, Tumblefun Olympics, countless kids' sporting events, and saw the girls off to the prom. One of her happiest memories was watching her granddaughter recently graduate from high school.
Kathy will always be remembered for her kindness and humor, her free spirit, her fun adventures and love of life. She always showed her positive nature, determination, and compassion. We love you, Kathy!
