Kathleen "Kathy" Buchanan

Kathy (Cannon) Buchanan, 68, of Marshfield, MA, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2026, after a brief illness.

Kathy was born on July 1, 1958, in Lynn, MA to Phyllis (Tobin) Cannon and George Cannon. She grew up in Lynn and attended Sacred Heart School before moving to Marshfield. She graduated from Marshfield High School in 1976, and attended Cape Cod Community College.

Kathy had a successful career in the food brokerage industry. Her candy samples made her even more popular among family members, especially those under 10.

Kathy was fiercely loyal, generous, and fun. She loved and cherished her family and friends. Most mornings began with a walk to Dockside Donuts for a coffee and a muffin. On a beautiful summer day, you could find her at the Marshfield Yacht Club or in a rocking chair on her deck overlooking the South River, surrounded by family. She especially loved playing with her grandnieces and grandnephews, who she adored and happily spoiled. Everyone was always welcome at her house.

Kathy is survived by her siblings, Mary Jane (Thomas) Goff of Lynn, Richard (Virginia) Cannon of Marshfield, and Ronald (Patricia) Cannon of Lynn; her nieces and nephews, Christopher (Alyse) Goff of Watertown, Colleen (Junior) Figueroa of Lynn, Gregory (Kelley) Cannon of Marshfield, Jennifer (Graham) Hart of Marshfield, Nicole (Matthew) McNear of Marshfield, Patrick (Aimee) Goff of Danvers, and William Cannon of Danvers; as well as nine wonderful grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, Phyllis and George.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 21st from 8:30 am to 10:30 am at MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street, Marshfield, MA. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, October 21st at 11:00 am at St. Christine Catholic Church, 1295 Main Street (Rt 3A) in Marshfield, with burial to follow in the Couch Cemetery.
