Kathleen M. (Gainey) Donoghue, of Marshfield, passed away on September 9, 2018 at the age of 59. Beloved wife of Timothy Donoghue and loving mother of Katherine Donoghue and Elisabeth Donoghue, both of Marshfield. Kathleen leaves her siblings Jeremiah Gainey and his wife Julie of Hanson, Patricia Gainey of Marshfield, Thomas Gainey and his wife Joan of Holbrook, Jean Ecord and her husband Benjamin of Holbrook, and Michael Gainey of East Bridgewater; she is predeceased by a brother, Joseph A. Gainey, and her parents Jeremiah B. and Florence M. (Gillis) Gainey. Kathleen also leaves many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Raised in Holbrook, MA, and a graduate of Holbrook High School's class of 1976, Kathleen was the fifth of seven children. She worked at Shuster Laboratories as an accounting manager for fifteen years before becoming a bookkeeper at Master Gourmet Packaging. She married her husband, Timothy, in 1991. Shortly after, they moved to Marshfield to eventually raise their two daughters. Always welcoming all to her home, Kathleen is remembered for her humility, compassion, and unwavering kindness. Always making a tray of cookies for those who were hungry, or crocheting a blanket for those who were cold, her extraordinary generosity graced the lives of all fortunate enough to meet her.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, September 14, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street (Rte. 139) in Marshfield. Funeral Mass to be held at 10:00 a.m. in St. Christine's Church, 1295 Main Street (Rte. 3A) in Marshfield. Interment will follow at Couch Memorial Cemetery.
