Daughter of the late William and Ruth (Sherman) Macfarlane, Kay is also predeceased by her siblings Anne (husband Donnie) and Pat (husband Ted). Kay also leaves her beloved canine companion, Zorro.
Kathleen (AKA Kay, Katrina, Katie, Kathy, Aunt Kay, Sealove, Nana and Ma) was a very special person with so many friends. She always said there are no strangers, only friends we haven't met yet. Kay loved the town pier and all her lobstermen friends, the craziness of July 3rd, decorating for all the holidays especially Christmas when she would send 550 Christmas cards and decorate her house from top to bottom for her open house on Christmas eve, which she did for almost 60 years. She adored all animals, especially the love of her life, Zorro. She loved her square dancing days. She was an amateur radio operator. Previously a member of the civil air patrol, currently for the past 15 years an active member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, loving every minute of this group. She had a deep love of anything country, especially old country music. She had many jobs that she loved, including working as a member of the CIA, Thayer Scale, and many others. Her final job was the one she cherished the most. She worked for the town of Marshfield on the planning board for 25+ years. Rarely missed a town hall meeting and never missed filling the candy dish. She eventually retired during the covid pandemic.
