Murphy, Kathryn M. of Marshfield, passed away on December 22, 2016 at the age of 96. Beloved wife of Michael "Frankie" Murphy. Dear mother of Katherine Grimaldi and her husband Larry of Rhode Island, Anne Marie Hawkins of Virginia, Maureen Camire and her husband Guy of New Hampshire, Nancy Bickford of Maine, Jeanne Therrien and her husband David of Rhode Island, Thomas LaVoice and his wife Darlene of Pennsylvania, and Peter LaVoice of New Hampshire; Kathryn leaves 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Kathryn was the wife of the late Dale E. LaVoice. She is predeceased by her brothers, the late John H. Murphy and the late Rev. Thomas L. Murphy, SSC.

Kathryn was a wonderful, warm, and courageous woman with a huge heart, and love for everyone she encountered. She was a home companion for many years in Marshfield, Massachusetts, as well as a Eucharistic Minister and religious education instructor at St. Ann's Church. Kathryn was a true member of the Greatest Generation that endured the Great Depression and World War II. She shared more than 25 years of her life and love with each of her two husbands.

Kathryn was guided by a deep devotion to her faith. She always saw the best in people and would go the extra mile to do something special for them. Kathryn was an exemplary role model for each of her seven children. Her everlasting legacy of compassion and love will live on in her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street (Rte. 139) Marshfield. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ann by the Sea Church, 591 Ocean Street, Marshfield. Interment will be in St. Anne's Cemetery in Cranston, Rhode Island at a later date.
