Obituary

Kenneth W. Glod of Marshfield passed away on April 19, 2024 at the age of 83. He leaves his devoted wife Lynda (Tedesco) Glod; children Andrea Glod and Toni Hale (husband Keith); grandchildren Anthony, Alivia, the late Austin; great-grandchildren Sophia and John; siblings Elaine Miller, Syndi White, and Rusty Glod. He also leaves his canine companion Angie and many nieces and nephews.

Kenny was born on September 15th, 1940 as the oldest of four siblings. He went on to graduate from Braintree High School with his first of many businesses in tow. He owned and operated a gas station and auto body shop in Braintree. It is at this very gas station that he would ask his now wife, Linda, out for their first date. They would marry in 1964, and later move to Scituate where Kenny would start his newest business venture, a pizza shop. But this was not the only new adventure the move would bring as Kenny and Linda would welcome to the world their two daughters, Andrea and Toni. It was during this time that Kenny began to craft his donut business, inviting friends over to become taste testers before eventually opening two donut shops in Braintree and Cohasset. Kenny wouldn't stop there as he always had passions he was learning on the side, one of which had him rebuilding every little thing in their house whether Linda wanted it done or not.

Eventually Kenny would bring his family to Marshfield, where they would settle down for his most well-known business venture. In 1988 he would start Captain Kens Donut shop, which would eventually change names to "The Coffee Shack" and can still be found in Marshfield today.

For those who knew Kenny, they also knew of his love for boats which started at a young age. Kenny would build his first boat from scratch in his parent's back yard. From then on he always had some sort of boat, he would fish and cruise around on with friends and family anytime he wasn't working. The marina was his second home, and in the Green Harbor Marina you will find a lighthouse he built as one of his many side projects.

Kenny was a great brother, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather to his 2 cherished great-grandchildren Sophia and John, whom he always called Joey. His family was his world and the only thing he may have loved more were his dogs, the last of which he leaves behind - a chihuahua named Angie who he took everywhere even if it wasn't allowed. Kenny will be missed by friends, family and the endless customers who've enjoyed his specialty hand cut donuts over the years.
