Obituary

Kevin J Broderick of Marshfield, formerly of Dorchester passed away Saturday April 25,2020 at the age of 75 after a short illness. Kevin was married to the late Kathleen (Roche). He leaves two daughters, Kristin Doyle of Marshfield, and Tracey O' Neill and husband David of Hanson, seven grandchildren, Matthew, Meghan, Timmy, and Ryann Doyle all of Marshfield, and Anna, Jenna, and Danny O' Neill, all of Hanson. Kevin was predeceased by siblings Joseph and Thomas Broderick, and Margaret (Broderick) Keane. He leaves brothers John Broderick and wife Barbara, Mark Broderick and wife Susan, and Paul Broderick and wife Joanne, all of Quincy, also Stephen Broderick and wife Coranna of Florida.

Kevin grew up in Dorchester where he met his wife Kathy and they were married after he was released from the US Army. Kevin worked for the Boston Edison (Eversource) for many years and moved to Marshfield where they raised their family. After retirement Kevin was able to become what he was most noted for, the best Papa. Kevin loved each one of his grandchildren in their own way. He was always seen in a hockey rink, on a basketball court, on a soccer field, or a softball or baseball diamond. Papa enjoyed watching all his grandkids. He always had a story about them all (maybe it was also bragging).

Kevin loved to travel and had many travel companions, too many to list, but you all know who you are. He loved to play golf, go to the casinos and race tracks. He loved his Saturday afternoon card games at the Elks, he loved to make his yearly gardens. Kevin enjoyed cooking and his grandkids loved his "to die for meatballs".

Kevin was a member of the Marshfield Elks Lodge #2494, where he not only bartended for years but where he met so many of his dear friends that have meant so much to him. He met people that became his best friends, his travel companions, and truly became his family. There are too many of you to list, but I'm sure you know who you are!

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
