Kevin Brooks

Kevin Brooks, of Humarock, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Originally from White Plains, New York, Kevin was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother. For 43 years, he shared a deep and loving marriage with his wife and best friend, Lynn. In their retirement in Humarock, they were inseparable.

As the protector of his family, Kevin was a sweet and gentle man who made everyone around him feel safe, supported, and deeply loved. He was the proud father of his son, Conor, and his wife, Rebeca of Apollo Beach, Florida; and of his daughter, Laura of Marshfield. He was a doting grandfather to his granddaughter, Leah, who he adored.

Kevin was a devoted and grateful son of Phillip M. Brooks, Sr. and Virginia C. Brooks, both from Massachusetts, who predeceased him. He was an amazing brother, a role he carried with love and loyalty for his surviving siblings: Virginia and her husband Barry Tarnef of Medford, New Jersey; Michael Brooks and his wife, Regina of Southbury, Connecticut; Kathleen Brooks of Larchmont, New York; John Brooks of New York, New York; Stephen Brooks and his wife, Veronica of Sonoma, California; Richard Brooks of Mahopac, New York; and Robert Brooks of Hartsdale, New York; and for his predeceased brother, Phillip M. Brooks, Jr. Uncle Kevin will be remembered fondly by his many nieces and nephews. His grand-dogs, Sadie and Chloe will miss his generous treats.

A gifted carpenter, Kevin owned a contracting business for many years and worked in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Quebec, Canada. He took immense pride in his work, giving his customers nothing short of perfection. His craftsmanship reflected who he was - patient, precise, and completely committed to doing things the right way.

Kevin loved being outdoors and embraced life with a spirit of adventure. He earned his airplane pilot’s license, achieving a commercial pilot’s certificate. In retirement, he was always thinking ahead to his next trip; always looking for new places to explore. An avid bird lover, he found both joy and peace in nature, whether feeding and observing birds close to home or taking in the beauty of the world around him. Mountains, forests, rivers, and beaches were a refuge.

Earbuds in place, while listening to “his music” Kevin could walk for miles or work for hours. Whether biking across the country as he did with his brother, Stephen or more recently, driving a similar route to California and back with his wife, Lynn, he was his happiest on the open road and when sharing these experiences with others.

Kevin will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and strength, but most important, all who knew him were touched by his loving soul.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, January 25th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street, Marshfield.
