Laurence D. Clancy IV, age 70, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2017 after a brief illness. He is the beloved husband of 49 years to Patricia (Powers) Clancy; dear father of David Clancy and his wife Kathleen (Garvin) of Duxbury and Heather (Clancy) Leff and her husband Larry, of Norwell; proud Grampa of David, Elizabeth, and Colleen Clancy of Duxbury and Abby and Hannah Leff of Norwell. Brother of Mark Aigen, Liza (Clancy) Corbett, Martha (Clancy) Crowley, Susan Clancy and the late Christopher Clancy; brother in-law of Kathy and Steve Delano of Pembroke and son in-law of Emma (Donnelly) Powers of Marshfield.

Larry was born in Denver, Colorado, raised in Dorchester, and attended Boston Technical High School, Northeastern University, and Massasoit Community College. He resided in Duxbury and Marshfield, and most recently lived in Plymouth. A U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, Larry retired from the Gillette Company after 34 years. Once retired from Gillette, he enjoyed working for Ground Effects Landscaping Company for 10 years. Larry was an avid gardener who enjoyed above all spending time with his family.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. and will conclude with an opportunity for all to share memories of Larry at 6:30 at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street (Rte 139) in Marshfield.
