Lawrence (Larry)  A. Nichols, Jr. of Plympton, formerly of Marshfield and Duxbury, passed away on October 12, 2019 at the age of 80. Larry is survived by his wife of 52 years, Janice M. (Barker) Nichols and their children Michael Nichols and wife Brenda of Kingston, MA, and Stacey Ellis and husband Bryan of Plympton, MA; his first wife Patricia (Powers) Buchanan and their children Terry Perron and husband Gerald of Milford, NH, and Wayne Nichols and wife Desiree of Wilton, NH. Larry was predeceased by his two oldest sons with his first wife Patricia, John and Scott Nichols. He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren. Larry was born on November 11, 1938 to his parents, the late Lawrence A. Sr. and Gertrude (Strachan) Nichols, and he grew up in Norwell and Hanover. He raised his family in Marshfield and then moved to Duxbury. In his early years he worked as a lobsterman and bar owner and then went on to run his own carpentry and trucking businesses.  In his spare time, he enjoyed restoring muscle and classic cars and drag racing. He loved horses and owned several Morgans and Arabians on his small farm in Duxbury. Larry moved to Plympton with his wife after he retired. Interment will be private.
