Lawrence M. Mahoney of Marshfield passed away on January 21, 2018 at the age of 83. Beloved husband of Barbara A. (Crowley) Mahoney; loving father of Marty Mahoney and her husband Michael Hurley and Katie Mahoney, all of Marshfield. Lawrence leaves his grandchildren Patrick, Myles, Andrew, Logan, Brigid and Michael. He is predeceased by siblings Paul Mahoney, Claire Mahoney Burley, and Robert Mahoney.

Larry was a US Navy Veteran and served during the Korean War. After graduating from Boston College, he went on to have a long career in the financial services industry. He celebrated 30 years of sobriety this past November and was passionate about helping others on their path to addiction recovery. Larry passed away after a brief illness surrounded by this family on his own terms, moments after watching his New England Patriots win the AFC Championship.

Visiting hours on Sunday, January 28, 2018 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. will conclude with a funeral service at 5:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street, Marshfield. Burial on Monday, January 29, 2018 will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
