Leo J. Allen, Jr., of Marshfield passed away on June 10, 2019 at home, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Leona (DiBona) Allen; dear father of Leo J. Allen of Fall River, Danielle Bowden and her husband Gregg of Middleboro, and Ashley Russell and her husband David of Middleboro; cherished grandfather of Cameron and Maeve Bowden, Emma Allen and Lucas Russell. Leo leaves his sisters Mary, Alene, Christine, Deborah, Joanne, and Kathleen, a brother, James, and many beloved nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a sister, Jean.

Leo had left school to pursue his love of horses and to one day become a jockey. He traveled around to different races as a jockey before missing the love of his life, Leona. He came home to Brockton to marry Lee in May of 1970. Leo worked in the environmental clean-up business for years before needing to retire due to Parkinson's disease. Leo did not let Parkinson's slow him down. He kept busy with gardening, fishing and taught all the boys in the family how to golf. He loved being around his family. All the kids loved playing with Uncle Leo. Uncle Leo would make the kids laugh by doing his famous duck talk. He never took any situation too seriously, always ready with jokes and one liners to get people to smile and laugh. Sometimes his joking would get a stern "Leo" from his wife and he would just give a sly smile that nobody could resist laughing at. Leo always saved room for dessert with his love of sweets.

Funeral Services will be conducted at MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. Family and Friends are invited to attend. Visitation is prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
