Leonard "Lennie" DiMuzio passed peacefully surrounded by his family on March 7th, 2015 at the Pat Roach Hospice Center, after his long courageous battle with cancer. He was was born on May 4th 1933. Born and raised in Cambridge, Mass. After graduating high school went on to study at the New England Conservatory, and then the Schillinger House. He was drafted into the army during the Korean War, fortunately then sent to Germany to join the occupational troops. His professional career spanning over 40 years working for the Avedis Zildjian company as Artist relations manager, and then for the past 10 years, worked as a consultant with the Sabian company.
He had a long time affiliation with the Percussive Arts Society and was considered an icon in the percussion world. Lennie enjoyed spending quality time with his family, as well as his love for playing the banjo and drums. His passion for life will be missed by all, but preserved in our memories forever. Loving father of Leonard DiMuzio, Jr., of Marshfield, Lucia Maddock and her husband Larry of Bourne, Cecilia Colucci of Green Harbor, Therese DiMuzio of Duxbury and Amanda Hamilton Keenan of Weymouth. Dear grandfather of Anthony, Marae, Corrinne, Nicole, and Gillian. Great grandfather of Taela, Joshua and Lila. Brother of Edward DiMuzio and his wife Pauline of Stonham and Marguerite Vecchio-Roman of Saugus. Visiting hours will be held in the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean St., Rte. 139 in Marshfield on Friday, March 13, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral from the funeral home on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in Holy Family Church, 601 Tremont St. in Duxbury at 11:00a.m. Interment will be in the Mayflower Cemetery, Duxbury, MA.
