Lila Palatini, 74, born in Garfield, New Jersey, died at home in Humarock on November 17, 2006. Lila's loving presence will be missed by many including Ellen Willard, also of Humarock, Jessica Hunt of Barnstable, and Luke McKinnon of Cambridge. She also leaves her brother, Glenn Palatini of Virginia. and sister, Jane Bowers of New York City. She was a beloved cousin, aunt, and grandmother of five. Lila was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict. Fifty years ago, she became a teacher in Cambridge and through her position as Teacher-in-Charge of the Learning Disabilities Department impacted the lives of hundreds of children until her retirement in 1988. Services will be held at Bourne National Cemetery on Monday, November 27 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations will be accepted at the Cambridge Somerville Early Intervention Program of The Guidance Center.
