Obituary

Lisa Jean Dimitri passed away on August 7, 2024 while bravely battling cancer. She was born on December 28, 1955, in Boston, MA.  Beloved daughter of the late Louis G. Dimitri Sr. and Barbara L. Riley and sister of the late Louis G. Dimitri Jr. , Edward Dimitri and wife Sharon of Marshfield, Thomas Dimitri and wife Liz of Marshfield, and Mark Dimitri and wife Danell of Marshfield. Lisa is survived by her loving daughter Andrea Pennini and husband Jeff of Halifax, and her devoted son John Gomes and partner Sheryl of Halifax; granddaughter Isla Gomes, grandsons JJ Pennini and Eddie Gomes, nephews Louis G. Dimitri III, Ed Dimitri, David Dimitri, Joseph Dimitri; and nieces Alyce Dimitri, Nicole Dimitri, and Christina Dimitri.

Lisa was a daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend.  While we lost our most cherished Lisa, many have lost a friend and loved one in her. The family is indebted to Lisa's lifelong best friend Clare, whose love, devotion, and support for Lisa was greatly appreciated.

She was raised in Boston before the family relocated to Marshfield, where she was a graduate of Marshfield High School class of 1973. Lisa was a retired federal employee, and she often received "thank you" notes from customers she helped. People who knew Lisa will always remember her as being kind, selfless, generous and compassionate. She always enjoyed a good laugh and was happiest when loving and caring for her family and friends whom she adored.

Lisa was the oldest of five siblings. She had a passion for food and cooking. She loved to host family gatherings for the holidays and Christmas was always her favorite! She enjoyed her many adventures to Foxwoods with her best friend and family. Lisa loved being a "Grammie" and spending time with all her beautiful grandkids. She especially enjoyed a good game night with her children. She had a talent for decorating her cozy home, enjoyed planting her flowers and enjoyed sunny days on her back deck. One of her favorite spots to enjoy was down at the seawall in Marshfield watching the waves. It brought her tremendous comfort and peace.

Our family is greatly saddened by her death, but comforted in knowing that Lisa, who was a born-again Christian, is now with the Lord and will enjoy eternal life.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield. The funeral service and burial will be private.
