Lucille "Lu" Berlan (Murphy), of Humarock, September 14, 2017. Beloved wife and soul mate of Michael Berlan; Daughter of the late Josephine Perruzzi Murphy and Charles Murphy of Newton; Sister of Michael Murphy and Maureen McGrath; loving Mother of Lynn Herivaux of Boston, Lisa Ghazanfari of Jacksonville, Florida, Laurie Ferreira of Taunton, John Pellegrini of Malden, the late Larry Pellegrini and Leon Pellegrini of Marshfield, and Angela Schifano of Winter Garden, Florida. She is survived by over 30 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great-nephews.

Lu was born in Newton and attended Our Lady of Help of Christians School. She made lifelong friends and a home that was warm and welcoming. Everyone felt as they belonged and usually never wanted to leave; being with her meant being surrounded by love, laughter, and plenty of comfort food. She loved music, and she loved to laugh.

Lu was tall, vibrant, and always fashionable. She could light up the room with her smile. Lu was crazy about her husband, Mike, and he adored her. We all did. Lu and Mike enjoyed their family, traveling together, the beach, and they looked forward to Friday nights spent laughing with their closest friends.

Lu was our rock, and she will be sorely missed.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, September 19, 2017, from 4:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street (Rte. 139) Marshfield and will conclude with a Funeral Service at 7:30 p.m., also at the funeral home.
