Lucy Lillian (Sciaraffa) Venezia, of Marshfield, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on May 21, 2023 at the age of 95. Wife of the late Pasquale Venezia. Lucy is preceded in death by her parents Eliseo and Marie (Cordaro) Sciaraffa and siblings Anthony Sciaraffa and Mary Spinale. Lucy was the loving mother of Peter Venezia and his late wife Christine of Townsend, Patricia McIntyre and her late husband Vincent of Marshfield, the late Thomas Venezia of Bourne, Robert Venezia and wife Rhonda of Assonet and Joseph Venezia and wife Geri of Pembroke. Cherished grandmother of Lisa Holt, the late Cheryl Venezia, Karen Venezia, Jean Clark, Nichole Reilly, Patrick McIntyre, Franchesca Ferguson, the late Nicholas Venezia, the late Thomas Venezia Jr., Shannon Venezia and the late Robert Venezia Jr. Adoring great-grandmother of Lucy and Hazel Reilly; Wren and Les Clark; Brooke, Caleb and Caden McIntyre; Eliza, Thomas and Anthony Ferguson; and Riley and Serenity Venezia.

Family was the focal point of Lucy's life. She enjoyed hosting a large family gathering every summer for her and her husband's family. Every holiday was a large celebration where she kept many of the Italian traditions alive for her children and grandchildren. Lucy worked for Quincy Public Schools as a secretary through retirement. In retirement, Lucy was an avid volunteer at the Marshfield Senior Center for many years and enjoyed knitting, gardening, cooking and baking. She was also very involved with the Red Hat Society, planning many luncheons with the local group.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday May 25, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00PM at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street (Rte. 139), Marshfield. Funeral procession from the funeral home on Friday, May 26, 2023 at 9:00AM for a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:00AM in Saint Ann's by the Sea Parish Church, 591 Ocean Street, Marshfield. Private burial following the Funeral Mass in the Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
