Obituary

Marcia G. (Taylor) Trementozzi of Marshfield, formerly of Hyde Park, passed away peacefully at the age of 85 on May 14, at home, surrounded by her loving daughters. She was the beloved daughter of the late Burton M. and Margaret R. (Concannon) Taylor. Darling sister of the  late Irene M. Lawrence, Paul Taylor and his wife Carol and the late Sandra Taylor. Devoted and cherished mother to Kim M.Primo of Winthrop, Tracy A. McKenna and her husband Daniel of Marshfield and Kerry Trementozzi of Marshfield. Loving and proud Nana to Sara F. Burr-Primo and her husband Benjamin of Winooski, VT, Gus J. Primo of St. Petersburg, FL, and Daniel J. McKenna of Marshfield. Much loved friend and sister-in-law to Eileen and Stephen Cloonan and Janice Frattassio. She leaves many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much and was blessed with lots of close friends.

Marcia was born and lived most of her life in Hyde Park and moved to the South Shore in 1996. She was a 1957 graduate of Hyde Park High School where she was voted class artist. She had a varied job history from office work, eglomise artist, and finally at Stop & Shop Commissary. She worked there for many years. Although it was not a job that utilized her artistic talents, she worked there until retirement because it was a good job and she had a family to support. Her daughters are forever grateful to her for the sacrifices she made for them by putting them first in her life.

Marcia also loved having a good time. She was a hot ticket. She loved music and sang in the choir at school and at church. A favorite memory she talked about was lying on her bed with her brother and singing the Hit Parade when they were kids. The radio and stereo were always on at home, and she would sing along while cooking or doing housework. She loved to dance and would cha-cha and jitterbug with her daughters in the kitchen. She loved to disco dance and did a mean hustle. She even took line dancing lessons with her bestie Jane. She loved to go to the beach early in the morning and read with a good book. She was an avid gardener and loved to dig in the dirt. She created many gorgeous gardens in her homes. After retirement and moving to the south shore Marcia was able to pursue her many interests, first and foremost painting. She was a member of Cape Cod Mayflower Decorative Artists. Later she was to take up a new medium and became a talented watercolor artist.

Marcia taught her daughters by example to be involved with volunteering in the community and with the needy. She was a Camp Fire leader and camp counselor for her daughters and their friends and was very involved in the Camp Fire Girls. She led the UNICEF drive for many years in her place of work and was involved in the yearly Christmas drive for the Home for Little Wanders. For many years she cooked a monthly meal for Father Bill's. She gave of herself and never turned anyone in need away. She was strong in her faith as a Catholic and participated in weekly adoration. She practiced works of mercy and taught her daughters to do the same. She was well loved and will be missed by so many.
