Obituary

Margaret "Peggy" M. Enwright of Stoneham, formerly of Yarmouth Port, West Dennis and Arlington, passed away peacefully at home on February 20, 2024, at the age of 98. Peggy was predeceased by her husband of 72 years, Charles A. Enwright.  Peggy was the loving mother of Charles E. Enwright and his wife Lisa of Marshfield, Carol Connor and her husband Jay of Amherst, NH, Richard and his wife Chris of Quincy and Christine and her husband Dave of Wakefield.  She was the proud grandmother of Christian, Paige, Whitney, Jill, Nicole, Justin, Christopher and Kevin and great - grandmother of Liam, Brendan, Molly, Andrew, Colby, Audrey, Ellis, AJ, Stella, Scarlett, Declan, Chloe and Kenzie.  Peg was the last living of her seven siblings, all of whom lived in Ireland and England.

Peggy was born on May 16, 1925, in Galway, Ireland, to Michael and Elizabeth Collins. She came to this country at the age of four and lived in Charlestown.  She was a graduate of the Thomas Acquinas High School Class of 1942. Upon graduation Peggy went to work at John Hancock in Boston.  She met her husband Charlie in her early 20s, and they married in 1948. They settled in Arlington, where they raised their family. Upon retirement Peg and Charlie moved to their second home in West Dennis, Cape Cod.  Seven years ago, Peg and Charlie moved to an assisted living facility in Stoneham to be closer to their family.

Through the years Peggy held various office administrative jobs, and somehow, she was always able to get the summers off so she could bring the family to the Cape, her favorite place.  We all have many wonderful memories of those summers.  Peg ended her working career as the office manager for a dental practice on the Cape at the age of 70.

Peg was a woman of strength, character, and kindness.  She was an active member of each community where she lived, and she developed many long-time friendships.  Peggy and Charlie enjoyed traveling through the years with friends and family, including several trips to Europe.  Most of all, Peggy loved being with her family and friends.  She was a wonderful hostess, and the entire family enjoyed many memorable get togethers.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Arbors of Stoneham and All Care Hospice for the wonderful and compassionate care that Peg received while approaching the end of her life.

A Private Service will be held at a later date in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Buzzards Bay. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to All Care VNA & Hospice by mail:  All Care VNA & Hospice, c/o Development Office, 210 Market Street, Lynn, MA 01901, or made online at https://allcare.org/donate/
