Margaret Eleanor Farrell of Bourne, formerly of Hanover and Marshfield, passed away on January 23, 2024 at the age of 90. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Eleanor Farrell.
She was predeceased by her husband Horace Fishwick, her brother John Farrell and his wife Helen, and her niece Sallie Farrell.
She is survived by her nephews, Christopher Farrell, Scott Farrell and his wife Linda, and Jay Farrell and his wife Cathy, and her stepdaughters, Nancy Fishwick and Pam O'Hara. She leaves behind many great-nephews, great-nieces, great-great nephews, and great-great nieces.
Margaret was born on Thanksgiving Day, November 30, 1933 in Norwood. She grew up with her family in Dedham and was educated at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Bridgewater State University, and Boston University, where she received her Doctorate. She enjoyed her twenty-six years as a public school teacher in the science department. After retirement she became interested in genealogy, which paired well with her love of travel, and she visited Europe to complete her research. In her retirement she worked for H&R Block preparing taxes as a second career. She continued to work for H&R Block well into her eighties.
Services will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church in Marshfield at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 30, 2024. Burial to follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery.
