Margie was born in 1932 to the late Charles and Margaret (Lyttle) Sandiford, was raised in New Jersey, and graduated from Atlantic City High School. She worked as a medical assistant to private practice physicians. In Atlantic City she met the love of her life, Fred, when they were stopped next to each other at a red light. Margie and her girlfriend showed Fred and his friend Jack the town and then Fred met her the next morning at church. She knew from the very beginning that she wanted to spend the rest of her life with Fred. They married shortly after meeting, and she left New Jersey to begin her new life in Marshfield. Fred and Margie enjoyed 65 wonderful years together. Her most important roles in life were that of a wife, a loving mother to her four daughters and a cherished Nana. She enjoyed spending her days with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She spent winters in Redington Shores, Florida but missed being away from her family and always looked forward to coming home.
Margie created a beautiful home in which she loved to entertain. Guests always felt welcome. She was a talented artist and leaves many beautiful works of art for her family to enjoy. She played piano, created beautiful gardens, loved to sew and knit, and was an avid reader of books and newspapers. Faith was very important to her. She studied the bible. Margie enjoyed going to the senior center for exercise class, book club, poetry and humor groups.
