Margaret "Chicky" Searles of Marshfield, Daughter of Rosemary Dowling and John Dowling of Dorchester, sister of Ralph Dowling of Stoneham and his wife Michelle, John Dowling of Grafton and his wife Ellen. Margaret also leaves her brother-in-law Michael McCarthy of Duxbury and was predeceased by her sister Rosemary McCarthy. She is also leaving behind her son Brian Searles and husband David Searles as well as many loving nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. She passed away on September 7, 2023, after battling with a lengthy illness(s).

Margaret was a fun loving, understanding, funny, firecracker type with all too many stories about her family. She was a mother of one, beloved wife, friend, and dog-lover. From growing up in Dorchester with her brothers, sisters, and friends to attending Harvard University with her mother or kicking back on a lounge chair on vacation to being a caretaker for many elderly clients and family. She always ended up making an impact on the people around her, wherever she went. Not one to hold back on her opinions and comments, she would shower you with praise like a summer rainstorm or absolutely tell you what she thought. Her intentions and heart of gold would always show through in the end. She would make sure you knew that you were loved. She also loved interior design and the ocean, as well as traveling to Aruba every year. We have been privileged to have such an amazing and understanding women in our lives and will she be missed dearly every day.

Services for Margaret will be on Thursday September 14th, 2023, with visitation from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. concluding with a Funeral Service at 7:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield. Burial in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne will be private.
