It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Maria F Mourinho,
Maria was born on the beautiful island of Faial in the Azores, Portugal, in 1935. Her early life was shaped by the warmth and simplicity of island living, surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean and the close-knit community that she cherished. In her mid-50s, Maria embarked on a brave journey across the ocean, immigrating to America in search of new opportunities. She settled in New England, where she built a life rich in love, faith, and family. A beloved great-grandmother, who peacefully left this world on August 27th, 2024, at the age of 89.
Maria was a woman of quiet strength and unwavering faith, always ready with a smile and words of encouragement. Maria was a devoted wife, mother of 6, grandmother of 11, and great-grandmother of twelve, whose family was the center of her world. Her love knew no bounds, and she was a constant source of strength and guidance to her children and grandchildren. Maria's wisdom, patience, and unwavering faith were her greatest gifts to her family.
Maria is survived by her five children, Zelia e Carlos Correia, Antoinio Alberto Nunes, Judite e Alfredo Rosa, Maria Jose DaSilva and Luis e Lilian Nunes. Followed by eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, who will forever carry her lessons of love and faith in their hearts. Her legacy lives on in the lives of those she touched with her kindness, her wisdom, and her unconditional love.
A wake service will be held at the MacDonald Funeral Home, at 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield on Sunday, September 1st 2024 from 1:00 p.m. till 4:00 p.m.
