Marianne "Mar" Schott Shean, 63, died peacefully at home on October 1, 2022. Born in Witten, Germany on November 5 1958, she lived in Wuppertal, Germany until she moved to the US in 1986. She lived in Saratoga Springs, NY before settling in Marshfield, MA in 1996. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Terence Shean; son, Dominick and wife Shikara Thody of Winooski, VT; daughter, Juliana Shean of Marshfield, MA; parents, Renate and Helmut Kosina and siblings, Christian Schott, Andreas Kosina, and Monica Kosina all of Wuppertal Germany. She was predeceased by her biological father Anton Schott.
She worked for the South Shore Women's Center for many years as an advocate for victims of domestic violence. She was devoted to her family, passionate about helping others and truly loved life, laughter, music, cooking and the beach.
Over the years she and Terry attended many concerts, traveling to San Francisco, New Orleans, and beyond for music festivals. For many years she participated in the Snug Harbor Community Chorus, singing in the yearly Christmas concert.
Her smile and contagious laughter will be remembered by anyone who met her. She loved a good joke almost as much as she loved a good beer.
Diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's, Mar continued to live life to the fullest and maintained her enthusiastic spirit to the very end.
The family would like to thank the many friends who supported Mar through her journey, especially her care givers and NVNA and Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to https://www.nvna.org/nvna-and-hospice-charitable-fun
