Newman, Marie L. (LanFranchi) of Duxbury, passed away on September 2 at the age of 79. Beloved wife of 56 year of the late William J. Newman Jr. Loving mother of William J. Newman III and his wife Teri of Deltona, FL, Patricia Pagliuso of Sagamore Beach, John Newman and his wife Peggy of Hanson and Paul Newman of Fort Lauderdale, FL. Loving grandmother of Brett Newman, Ashley Newman-Hamlet, Nicole, Bianca and Francesca Pagliuso and Emily and Abbie Newman. Loving great-grandmother of River William Newman. Dear sister of Susan Meyer of Groton and the late Antoinette LanFranchi and Edward LanFranchi. Daughter of the late John and Mary (Ferrari) LanFranchi. Marie was born in Boston and raised in Revere before moving to Brighton where she resided until moving to Duxbury in 1990. She was a graduate of St. Clements High School. Marie received her nursing degree from Winthrop Community Hospital. Marie worked at both Winthrop Community Hospital and Cenacle in Brighton. Visiting hours will be held in the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean St., Rte. 139 in Marshfield on Sunday, September 7 from 1 to 5 p.m. Funeral from the funeral home on Monday, September 8 at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in Holy Family Church, 601 Tremont St. in Duxbury at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be held in Mayflower Cemetery.
