Marilyn (Lyn) Dionne, age 81, a longtime resident of Pembroke, died peacefully in hospice care on May 15, 2022, after a brief illness. She was the beloved mother of Christine Facella and her spouse Rick of Modesto, California, Lany Facella of Plymouth, Ma., Linda Walsh and spouse Paul of Pembroke, Ma., and Toni-Lyn (Chuckie) and Anthony Stafford of South Boston, Ma. Lyn is also survived by her grandchildren, Nicole Peluso of Dallas, Tx., Erica Peluso and her fiancé Jamie of Marshfield, Ma. Patrick Walsh of Boston, Ma., Taylor Hamm and her spouse Michael of Wareham, Ma., Ashley Walsh of Dallas, Tx. She is also survived by one great-grandchild, Everleigh Jane Hamm. Lyn is survived by her sister, Valerie Bright of Austin, Tx. She was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Miriam Dionne, her sisters, Jeanne Dionne, and Patricia LeBlanc of Marshfield, Ma.
Lyn enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and always cherished her holiday kids craft day. She had a great many friends, many life-long. When Lyn made a friend, it was forever. She enjoyed golfing, movies, family events and dining with her friends. Many of these friends were graduates of South Weymouth High School class of 1959. Lyn graduated from Burdett College following her graduation from high school. Lyn's career was dedicated to helping others. She worked for many nonprofits raising funds to continue their dedicated work for their clients. Her considerable efforts and empathy for the homeless and dedicated work to support them had significant impact on their lives. Lyn also served as a member of the Board of Library Trustees for the Pembroke Town Library for many years. For Lyn, service to her community was her passion.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, May 20, 2022 beginning at 4:00 p.m.. and will conclude with a Funeral Service at 6:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield.
