Smart, Marilyn F. (Hannigan), of Marshfield, formerly of Watertown, passed away on November 25, 2016 at the age of 74. Beloved wife of the late Thomas J. Smart and dear mother of Garrett Smart of Marshfield, Marilyn leaves a sister, Kathy Muscato; a nephew, Gregory Muscato and his wife Kristan (Combs) Muscato; a niece, Elaine Muscato; great nephew Vincent and great nieces Zoe and Harleigh.

Marilyn was born in Brighton to the late Arthur R. and Francis A. (Bellantoni) Hannigan and was raised in Watertown. She was an elementary school teacher in the Watertown school system for 31 years and was a member of the Massachusetts Teachers Association and the Sons of Italy in Belmont. Marilyn loved boating and in her life time traveled to every State in the USA except Alaska. She enjoyed skiing and snowmobiling and loved animals, especially her beloved dog, Kelly.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street (Rte. 139) in Marshfield. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 1, 2016. Burial will be in Couch Cemetery.
